G35 firmware update overview

Exit the Navig8r program and choose “travel kit”

Scroll down the list and choose “About”

Identify which version your OS is..

If you have V.2E, choose option 2A

If you have V.2A, V.2B or V.2D choose option 2B

Download the map update only. (select the G35 picture)

note: E version only

Download the OS & Map update (468MB) and unzip onto a clean 1 or 2GB SD card

note: A, B and D versions only

• Slide the power switch on the rear of the GPS to OFF position.
• Connect G35 to the AC adaptor provided in the package.
• Insert the SD card to the slot on the side of the GPS.
• Press and hold down the Standby button on top of the GPS.
• With the Standby button still held, slide the power switch on the rear of the device to ON position.
• Continue holding the Standby Button down for approx 10 seconds or until the display lights and shows ‘Updating Images…’.
• Release the Standby button and place the GPS on a stable surface and ensure that it will remain powered.
• OS update process starts (4 files).
• When OS update completed, the unit re-starts and Map Data update starts loading AUTOMATICALLY (6xx files).
• The whole process will take about 45 minutes.
• When the process finished, the main menu is displayed.
• Switch off the GPS and remove the SD card (Keep the card in a safe place and it can be used as disaster recovery disc.)
• Switch on the unit and check ABOUT in Travel Kit. Software version should now read 20090401.E.


• Return to main menu and launch the Navigation software
• Keep SD card with GPS. Card can be used as disaster recovery disc.
